Here is the original synopsis:
About this event
Join us on 29th April for our London CTOs roundtable.
'Developing your developers: The Importance of continual training in tech'
Many of the best software engineers have an insatiable desire to learn and stretch their technical muscle. That's why many CTOs want them on their team. But keeping your tech team busy may not be enough to keep them in your company - not unless you harness their passion and curiosity and help them to grow. This is where training plays such an important part in retaining the talent you have worked so hard to recruit.
But what kind of training and development should you be looking for? According to a recent poll conducted by course provider Udemy only 30% of people that sign up actually finish a course and over half never actually start it. During this roundtable we'll be discussing the topic of tech training along with our special guest Hywel Carver, CTO and founder of tech training company Skiller Whale who has some great insights into training a team.
We'll aim to cover questions like: - Why is talent retention better than hiring - How do you train a team with completely different skill gaps - How do you select the best training courses - How do you balance the skills your developers want with the skills you want them to learn - Hands on training vs presentation lead training
Feel free to take part in the lively discussion or simply sit back, watch and take it all in. This is an online event starting at 13:00 BST.
Who should attend: Experienced CTOs, interims, advisors with an opinion on the matter and anyone who works in tech and has responsibility for developing and engaging staff.
